Our approach in the supply chain is currently recognised “Platinum” by Ecovadis, an organisation that provides Supplier Sustainability Ratings for global supply chains.

NEC has been a signatory to the United Nations (UN) Global Compact since 2005. NEC Europe Ltd. Became a member of the UK UN Global Compact Network in 2013.

We adhere to the principles of the International Standards Organisation’s (ISO) 26000 guidance on socially responsible behaviour and possible actions.

We ensure that the fundamental rights of our stakeholders are respected with reference to guidelines set out by the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization, using related benchmarks promoted by the UN and the European Commission.

As a global company, we use the comprehensive sustainability reporting framework created by the Global Reporting Initiative, to outline the management of our environmental and social impacts. We are also included in a variety of indices promoted by sustainable investment agencies which rate companies based on the thorough analysis of their economic, environmental and social performance.
