Project Office Coordinator

Role Purpose

NEC is using its class leading radio technology and system integration expertise to address the introduction of 5G technology globally. Using Open vRAN technology and strategic partnerships, NEC will be engaging operators to conduct proof of concept technology trials, pilot launches and commercial roll out of 4G and 5G technology.

To support this initiative, NEC has established a 5G Centre of Excellence (CoE) in the UK to work as a centralised engineering & operations function to support NEC’s activities in Open RAN globally.

The primary objective of the ORAN Project Office Coordinator is to ensure that day to day business operations tasks of the CoE are carried out efficiently, promptly, and consistently under the guidance of the existing engineers and managers in the team. In support of this objective, the ORAN Project Office Coordinator shall be expected to participate in a wide range of activities across the business cycle, engaging with internal functions, partners & customers as necessary.

This role will be based in London.

Key responsibilities/duties of the role 

•    Support the Project management team with project ordering and deliverables (internal and external)
•    Review and track financial revenue and costs for the ORAN department 
•    Draft and issue financial reports to internal and external NEC entities 
•    Raise Purchase Orders as required, providing business justification and progress to signoff
•    Draft quotations for services to internal and external NEC functions 
•    Prepare and track customer quotations as instructed by other team members ensuring that principles are adhered to & NEC Europe’s commercial interests are understood & protected
•    Maintain a database of deployed software including schedules for maintenance and license renewals
•    Manage the drafting and signing of Service Level Agreement contracts between NEC entities 
•    Manage NEC-E Service Level Agreement deliverables and acceptance process
•    Manage new supplier on-boarding to financial tools and systems
•    Define & manage the inventory management processes for all ORAN equipment
•    Work together with the project managers and supply chain to develop and run a spares loop process. 
•    Manage the storage, maintenance and accessibility of ORAN documents on the document management system (or alternative document management system). This will include: adding new customers, adding users (in conjunction with IT), preparing documents for storage and delivery, adding and updating documents, producing documentation catalogues
•    Liaise with IT regarding enhancements to System Tools ensuring that any proposals are reviewed for business impact across different functional areas & have a full business case justification prior to submission for approval
•    Produce & co-ordinate weekly & monthly reports for the approval of the wider management team
•    Manage project documentation in line with agreed quality processes & procedures
•    Escalate issues or problems in accordance with departmental procedures.
•    Attend relevant internal & customer meetings.
•    Support other internal functions as & when required to achieve the overall objectives of the ORAN team
•    Define & manage the demonstration lab, co-ordinating customer & internal requirements & liaising with Operations to ensure that these requirements are supported.
