Global Open RAN Center of Excellence (CoE)
We have established the Global Open RAN Center of Excellence (CoE) in the U.K. to accelerate the global adoption of Open RAN and to further strengthen its structure for accelerating the global deployment of 5G.

This new CoE is responsible for business and solution development, product development support, project execution and technical support for NEC's global Open RAN business. It will form the backbone of NEC’s global project delivery capability, building on the company’s long term experience in communication, across the globe.

NEC Europe have implemented a hybrid working model (Smart Working) since April 2019 and therefore this role is part based in the Ruislip office and part at home. 

Key Responsibilities

• Definition of Project Delivery plans & budgets
• Monitoring of deliverables, identifying any slippages & escalating accordingly within the management chain.
•Escalation management of customer issues arising during project delivery.
•Risk management & risk mitigation strategies
• Delivery of customer projects to agreed timescales & budgetary targets.
• Ensure that all Project activities are planned (with committed resource assignments), successfully delivered on time & within the agreed budget.
• Build co-operative working relationships internally & externally with customers & partners, ensuring that trust between teams is built & fostered.

The Job
The Project Manager will be responsible for all customer delivery activities in both new & existing deployments. This includes the delivery, integration & acceptance of new deployments, ongoing rollout & the delivery of new software & features into existing networks for the assigned customers.

The Project Manager operate in two models:

• Leading the direct customer relationship or,
• Supporting a locally based Project Manager

The Project Manager shall also:
• Provide inputs & own deliverable in the pre-sales phase, including but not limited to the  ownership of RFx responses.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure readiness to support the customer deliverables.
• Provide pre-sales support to the account team in support of sales activities.
• Cost control for the assigned customers, ensuring targets are achieved & improvement plans defined & executed when required.

Skills and Experience

           Project Management experience
•           High level system level experience across Telecommunications Networks & Solutions
•           Educated to degree level or equivalent preferred Electronics /Telecommunication
•           Solid relevant experience in the Telecommunications industry.
•           Knowledge of generic telecommunications operator requirements
•           Experience of deploying solutions in a telecommunications operator, either from an operator or supplier perspective
•           Commercial acumen
