Company            NEC Telecom MODUS, Leatherhead, Surrey

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated engineer to join our growing team. The team develops digital systems and IP components for NEC’s world-leading portfolio of O-RAN mobile telecommunication network products.

The product development is multi-national and multi-discipline, with the focus in the UK being the core digital signal processing and O-RAN packet processing functions. We are applying the latest massive-MIMO and software defined radio techniques on cutting-edge SoC FPGAs and ASIC technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and develop Python based tools to support verification activities
  • Liaison with development teams to agree software tool requirements

Essential Experience and Knowledge
  • Software development using Python.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design and unit testing methodologies.
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.

Desirable Experience and Knowledge
  • C++
  • Linux shell scripting
  • tcl script development
  • Simulation of digital systems using VHDL or Verilog.
  • Knowledge of signal processing and telecommunications technologies and standards, particularly 5G NR physical layer.

  • Keen to increase their responsibilities and to expand and deepen technical knowledge.
  • Clear communicator and logical thinker with effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

Educated to degree level in communications, electronics, physics, computing, maths or similar relevant engineering related discipline. M.Eng/MSc./PhD would be a plus.
