We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated engineer to join our growing team. The team develops digital systems and IP components for NEC’s world-leading portfolio of O-RAN mobile telecommunication network products.

The product development is multi-national and multi-discipline, with the focus in the UK being the core digital signal processing and O-RAN packet processing functions. We are applying the latest massive-MIMO and software defined radio techniques on cutting-edge SoC FPGAs and ASIC technologies.


Key Responsibilities
  • To architect, develop and maintain Test and Verification Systems for complex digital systems and IP components. The scope of these Verification Systems is wide-ranging, comprising multi-language software, HDL simulators and lab-based hardware.
  • To devise verification strategies and implement test plans to ensure the delivery of high quality, fault-free products.

Essential Experience and Knowledge
  • Simulation of digital systems using VHDL or Verilog
  • Knowledge of test and verification methodologies, testbenches and digital systems.
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.

Desirable Experience and Knowledge
  • Python  
  • Experience of verification using 3rd party IP libraries (especially Xilinx Vivado/Vitis tools)
  • C++ or other system software languages.
  • Knowledge of signal processing and telecommunications technologies and standards, particularly 5G NR physical layer.

Education

Educated to degree level in communications, electronics, physics, computing, maths or similar relevant engineering related discipline. M.Eng/MSc./PhD would be a plus.
