System Analyst / Support Engineer

In HPC Europe business NEC has a proven track record not only as the world-leader in high-end vector computing, NEC SX vector supercomputer, but also as a company that can provide the right tool for every HPC-requirement from NEC LX-series, which is based on industry-standard components, to the high-end vector SX-series.

 

Within our business unit HPC in Leinfelden near Stuttgart we are currently looking for a:

System Analyst / Support Engineer HPCE

 

 

Tasks:

  • Analyse failures and plan repairs together with 1st Level Support

  • Arrange appointments and communicate with customers and partners about onsite actions

  • Perform regular onsite service at local customers

  • Test and repair failed systems and components in our repair centre

  • Support warehouse and RMA handling of replaced parts

  • Open tickets with manufacturers about faulty hardware

  • Support in-house installation tasks for new projects

  • Improve efficiency of internal repair process

 

Education and Experience:

  • Apprenticeship in IT (Systems informatics technician or similar) with a main focus on informatics or electronic engineering or equivalent professional certification(s)
  • Good knowledge about and experience with application and support in UNIX/ LINUX-based HW/ SW-environments
  • Experience in the area of technical customer support with a high level of customer contact
  • Knowledge of storage systems is an advantage
  • Able to work in a responsible and independent way
  • Continued willingness to expand the procedural and technological skills
  • Good spoken and written command of the English language
  • Fluent in German language
  • Flexibility for on-site 1 day visits to our customers
  • Full and clean driver’s license (class B)
