Storage Solution Architect

The product portfolio includes supercomputers and high-performance computing, telecommunications and IT solutions as well as biometric security solutions for Civil and Law Enforcement.

 

In HPC Europe business NEC has a proven track record not only as the world-leader in high-end vector computing, NEC SX vector supercomputer, but also as a company that can provide the right tool for every HPC-requirement from NEC LX-series, which is based on industry-standard components, to the high-end vector SX-series.

 

Within our business unit HPC/ Storage we are currently looking for a
 

Storage Solution Architect (m/f)

 

Tasks:

  • Actively engage in customer discussions to understand needs and pain points in HPC storage and clearly communicate requirements to product managers and teams developing HW & SW solutions
  • Directly engaging and supporting sales and account managers and be the go-to- person for opportunities in HPC storage
  • Take opportunity owner role for complex opportunities working with solution architects and other internal teams
  • Work on public and commercial tenders together with the HPC Solution architects and other internal teams
  • Detailed technical elaboration of the offer
  • Makes technical and sales presentations to technical staff and top management.
  • Planning of benchmarks in close cooperation with the technical department
  • working closely with different manufactures and our team of developers to identify suitable products to complement our portfolio
  • Collaborate with management and product managers to influence product roadmaps, go-to-market strategy and messaging
  • Develop segment specific collateral and value proposition messages by closely working with marketing team.

Education and Experience:

  • 7+ year experience in High Performance Computing and Storage
  • 5+ year experience in Sales and Business Development
  • Excellent knowledge of parallel filesystems commonly used in HPC environment
  • Good knowledge of HPC workloads and their implications on designing HPC Storage solutions
  • Innovative and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Action-oriented and able to work independently with clear priorities in a matrix organization
  • High degree of commitment
  • Self-motivated, proactive and flexible
  • Fluent in German and English, French language skills highly appreciated
  • Willingness to travel
