Presales Engineer IT

Position Overview:

As part of NEC EMEA presales and consultant team, the Presales Engineer IT is providing field pre-sales technical support for the EMEA sales teams with a prime focus on Northern, Central and Eastern Europe.

He / she is responsible for understanding key customer strategic goals and IT requirements, educating customer on NEC products and solutions. This positions works close in one team with the sales people to co-manage the on-going relationship with partners and sometimes visits (key) potential end-user customers and helps driving the overall IT business. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Professional presales services for NEC partners upstream in the Sales cycle, by supporting Sales, & Partners to mount and sell solutions maximizing our value added technology.
  • Architecture design, implementation management and move in production of NEC Enterprise IT Solutions: Servers, storage, IT and networks virtualization, management, monitoring tools
  • Deliver presentations to Partners & Customer.
  • Create & maintain training content & supporting partners in selling / positioning the NEC products and solutions.
  • Tender support (RFI/RFQ) and provide gap analysis and recommendations
  • Build technological skills on market trends to develop NEC solutions based on NEC new products and help business development of these sectors

The Presales Engineer IT will report to IT Solutions EMEA pre-sales Manager (Direct Line management) and to the regional sales director (dotted line management)

Professional Key Skills and Experience:

  • The candidate will have at least 2-3 successful years’ experiences in presales activity for Servers, storage & Software (Replication software, Server virtualization software- HyperV and VmWare) discipline
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering
  • Good communication/presentation skills
  • Ability to impart knowledge to others through delivery of training and formal presentation
  • Well informed of the market trends and competition
  • Broad knowledge of main industry standard technologies is required (Windows Server, Linux, SAN, Clustering, and Virtualization)
  • Experience of Servers, Storage Hardware, LAN/WAN infrastructure, Cluster / HA, VDI solutions
  • Knowledge of Software defined networking (SDN)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (Iaas - Openstack) and big data processing (Hadoop) for datacenter management
  • Excellent in English, Dutch and German are a pre
