NEC Europe Data Protection Trainee

NEC Europe Ltd is looking for a trainee to work as part of Legal & Governance Department, primarily in the Data Protection area specifically to assist with the growth, documentation and administration of the Data Protection Framework within EMEA Region.
Main responsibilities
(i)Act as support for the Data Protection Officer of NEC on general daily duties including queries from the business in relation to data privacy issues.
(ii)Participate in the development of data privacy compliance tools (e. g. technology, guidelines, playbooks, templates, FAQs) and participate in data privacy projects.
(iii)Perform legal research and analysis of legal and compliance requirements arising from EMEA Data Protection laws and regulations related to data protection, privacy, security and information governance.
 
(iv)Work with internal stakeholders on, Data Protection Impact Assessments, recording and investigating data breaches or incidents, data mapping and other data protection activities.
 
(v) Attend meetings and participate in brainstorming on the gaps and challenges and perform other related duties as required.
 
(vi) Support the Data Protection Officer on conducting data protection internal audits and for the production of key privacy program metrics.
 
(vii) Responsible, in collaboration with the Legal & Compliance Department for the ongoing training awareness by assisting with the design and release of any training launching  by Legal &  Governance though NEC’s internal eLearning tool.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • A self-motivated, clear thinking, analytic, systematic and organised individual;
  • Some knowledge of the DPA 2018, , GDPR and upcoming ePrivacy Regulation;
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English;
  • Ability to produce Excel dashboard, PowerPoint management presentations with high or complete autonomy;
  • Familiar with emerging technologies such as Public Cloud, Big Data & AI, Digital Services.
