NEC in Europe

NEC began business in Europe in the early 1970s and our activities include sales, manufacturing and R&D functions. The NEC group consists of subsidiary, sister and joint venture companies each focusing on a particular region and/or product and service portfolios. NEC offers its customers high quality products, services and system solutions to facilitate greater business development opportunities in the Internet era.

Today, the NEC group has 20 consolidated companies, employing approximately 4000 personnel, located across Europe. NEC's net European sales are in excess of €3.9 billion (FY 2005, ending 31 March 2006).
 

NEC Europe

NEC Europe Ltd., a group company of NEC Corporation (Japan) based in the UK is the regional headquarters of 7 European subsidiaries, which are described below. NEC Europe is responsible for the sales and marketing of communication computer telecommunication and electronic devices. NEC Europe’s headquarters are based in West London and operates local branches in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

NEC Europe established NEC Laboratories Europe based in Heidelberg, Germany and Sankt Augustin, Germany as research facilities in Europe. The laboratories place special emphasis on solutions meeting the needs of NEC's European customers and is focused on software for advanced numerical computing.
